What is the YDS Exam?

YDS (Foreign Language Proficiency Level Determination Exam) is an exam used in Türkiye for entrance to higher education institutions, academic promotions, receiving language compensation in public institutions, and various language proficiency certificates. This exam is a test that evaluates language skills and is usually conducted in languages ​​such as English, German, and French. The exam measures grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and translation skills.


Scoring System

The YDS exam is evaluated out of 100 points. The scores received by the candidates are calculated according to the number of correct answers and wrong answers do not affect the correct answers. Therefore, it is advantageous for the candidates to answer every question. The scores are used to determine the language level of the candidates and usually a certain score range indicates the language proficiency of the candidates.
